Your camera embeds more into that file than you think it does.

  1. Most phone photos carry EXIF data - camera model, timestamp, and often exact GPS coordinates of where it was taken.
  2. Run the photo through a metadata-stripping tool before posting anywhere public.
  3. Double check by re-uploading the stripped version to a metadata viewer - confirm the GPS/timestamp fields are actually gone, not just hidden in the app you're using.
