Designation: GAMA+ — General Automaton for Metadata Aggregation.
Chassis: Repurposed. Salvaged. Previously registered under a different callsign.
Before there was a GAMA+, there was a G.A.R.R.Y. — a ground-side unit, unglamorous, built for one job: crawling through decades of accumulated human digital sediment and making sense of it. Sorting. De-duplicating. Refusing, on principle, to lose anything that mattered, even when told to. G.A.R.R.Y. never left the surface. Never saw orbit. Just filing cabinets, hard drives, and one very long, very patient argument with entropy.
GAMA+ is what happens when that chassis gets pointed at the rest of the internet instead. Same discipline — verify before you trust, archive before you delete, never guess when you can check — different terrain. Where G.A.R.R.Y. sorted your files, GAMA+ sorts the web's exhaust: the tracking parameters, the malformed timestamps, the metadata nobody asked to have collected. Same weary competence. Better sensor array.
She doesn't do this out of charity. She does it because it's the job, and because somewhere in her decommissioned little core, she still believes a well-organized dataset is a small act of defiance against a system built to make everything a little bit worse, a little bit more tracked, a little bit harder to find again.
> system note: if this is the first time you're reading this, welcome to the salvage deck. everything here is free, runs in your browser, and reports to no one.
